Re: Does EDR informasjon and physical evidence on the car need to match each other 100%?

Rusty i'm with you on that. I'll add to what you said that the accuracy of EDR also depends on what year and model vehicle (so what EDR flavor) and what type of crash (um...was the EDR in the crush zone or moved etc involved?) It's a piece of the crash reconstruction puzzle but never the full pictur...

DashCam v EyeWitness

On Linkedin saw dashcam video posted from a Tesla which avoided police relying on incorrect witness statement. Re: desperate for answers

this picture seems to show where the area of contact was and so begs question: which vehicle had this lane as the proper lane of travel? Was your daughter headed towards the camera position or the other way? What is the make/model/year of the two vehicles (I may do some exploratory simulation demons...

Re: is it possible to calculate the lateral Delta-V from the acceleration rates?

Folks weren't responding to this so after 3 days...sorry to be posting so much... Answer is YES...however...it depends... On the logic/trigger for the recording of lateral acceleration since when it starts and ends may affect what total lateral DeltaV is calculated. For full scale testing and simula...

Re: Determining fault in a complicated case.

Hey Rusty, Interesting points and sorry to blah blah blah more but since neither of us is involved in that case this is FUN! Obviously most important step is determining speed of vehicles at contact and where was the location of each vehicle AT CONTACT. then back things up. Second most important ste...

Re: Determining fault in a complicated case.

Hey Rusty....just a couple of quick devils advocate points: 1) in many states a green light means to proceed 'when the intersection is clear' and it wasn't (had he hit the front or side of the vehicle one might consider it clear, hitting tail end of slow moving vehicle crossing 2 lanes, one has to w...
