Re: Ignition Event/Investigation Cycle

There are a number of ways to determine if the data is related to the crash you're investigating, but much of it depends upon the type of data file you have. If you post the .cdrx file of the data we might be able to offer suggestions.

Re: 2018 Nissan Sentra

What does "able to download the module but no data would download" mean? Describe what happened.

How do you know you were communicating with the ACM? Is there some reason you can't just use a DTM cable and download the data?

Re: Right lane higher then Left Lane impact

The amount of weight shift and change in ride height depends upon several variables, including the characteristics of the suspension systems of both vehicles, the loading of the vehicles, the geometry of the roadway and the speed at which the vehicles were traveling.

Re: Right lane higher then Left Lane impact

When you talk about "grade," I am assuming you are talking about the superelevation of the roadway, which is the lateral grade of the roadway. I wouldn't expect the "grade" to make a difference in contact height if the "grade" is constant across the travel lanes, as the...

Re: List of European vehicles covered by CDR via EOBD connec

Elvin, You can download the latest version of the CDR Software and install it as a reader. I believe you can still use the Help File in the reader version of the software, which will include detailed information on coverage. You can find the software at the following location: https://www.boschdiagn...

Re: Europian cars CDR support

The screencap of the CDR data your provided indicates that you were able to download data from the ACM. In other words, you were able to communicate with the module. What is the specific discrepancy you are suggesting? I suggest posting the original .cdrx file so that we may see the entire file, not...

Re: 2004 Pontiac GTO (Holden)

Coverage for Holden only goes back to 2007 MY. It is my understanding that the 2004 Pontiac GTO was a rebadged Holden Monaro, and that they stopped making this model in 2006 MY. I suspect that you are out of luck.

Re: Europian cars CDR support

Most of the vehicles you mention are NOT currently supported by Bosch CDR Tool in Europe, except the 2014 Toyota Camry. The 2017 Volvo V-40 is supported in the European market, but not before. If the vehicle is not listed as supported in the CDR Help file, you can expect to get the VIN errors you me...

Re: 2012 Chevy Impala Ignition Cycle issue...

The ignition does not have to be "turned over to run" to record and ignition cycle. While you may have used a technique to backpower the ACM to do the download, you haven't mentioned why you had to backpower in the first place. Was the key in the vehicle, was the battery disconnected, were...

Tom,

What is the vehicle in question? Some GM vehicles have 2.5 seconds of pre-crash data reported at .5 second intervals.

How old is the RAV4? If it is newer than a 2006 MY, it has the capability to record pre-impact data on the airbag control module if the impact was big enough to wake up the system.

Re: Can fault be determined from these pictures?

The damage to the left rear door panel is likely the result of contact with the right end of the front bumper of the truck, while the tearing you see around the left rear wheel well was likely caused by the raised lug nuts on the right front wheel of the truck. The damage indicates that the car is t...

I would also like to know the location of the crash. The layout of the intersection is big factor to consider in the crash. Most states indicate in their rules of the road that a driver shall make a right turn from the "rightmost portion of the travel lane." Was this a right turn lane or a...

Re: Broadside auto accident-can photos of damage and location info reveal fault?

One can sometimes corroborate or discredit a particular witness version by showing the version does not match the known lig...
